Terms of Service
Last updated: September 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Super Bowl Squares ("we", "us" or "our") covering your use of the website at https://www.superbowlsquares.org and everything it offers (the "Service"). By visiting the Service, creating an account, buying a grid or claiming a square, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
The Service provides online tools for setting up and running football squares pools: a grid players can join, sign-up and pick tracking, random number assignment, optional automatic score tracking, emails to players, and free printable and spreadsheet grids. In these Terms a "Host" is a person who creates an account and runs a grid, and a "Player" is a person who claims or is given a square on a Host's grid.
3. We Provide Software, Not a Pool
The Service is software for organizing a pool. We are not a party to any pool, and we never collect, hold, transfer or pay out entry fees, pot money, prizes or any other money between Hosts and Players. Any payment between a Host and a Player happens outside the Service and is entirely between them. Payment instructions and payout descriptions shown on a grid are written by the Host and are the Host's responsibility.
Laws about pools, raffles and games of chance vary from place to place. As a Host you are solely responsible for deciding whether your pool is lawful where you and your Players live, for any licence or registration it may need, and for complying with those laws. We make no representation that running a pool is lawful in any particular place. Nothing in the Service is gambling advice.
4. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. To run a grid you need an account, and you agree to give us accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done under your account, including by any secondary admins you add to a grid. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
5. Host Responsibilities
As a Host you control who joins your grid and what appears on it. You agree that:
- you have each Player's permission to enter their name and contact details on your grid and to have grid emails sent to them through the Service, and you will not add anyone who has not agreed to take part;
- the rules, payouts, payment instructions, images and other content you publish on a grid are yours, are accurate, and do not infringe anyone's rights or break any law;
- you are responsible for collecting entry fees, verifying results and paying prizes, and for resolving any dispute with your Players; and
- you will use the Service's email features only to communicate with the Players on your grid about that grid.
We may remove content or lock a grid that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms.
6. Player Terms
When you claim a square you agree that your name will be shown on the grid to anyone the Host lets view it, that the Host and their admins can see the contact details you provide, and that you will receive emails about the grid, such as pick confirmations, payment updates and winner announcements. Your Host, not us, is responsible for the pool's entry fees, prizes and rules.
7. Purchases, Grid Lifetime and Renewals
Grids are digital products. A grid is activated as soon as your payment is approved, and you can start using it immediately. Each product has a lifetime or expiration date described at the time of purchase; it is also shown in the grid's settings once you own it. When a grid expires it closes to Players and, after a period, its contents may be archived and removed. You can renew an eligible grid for a further season for the renewal price shown at the time.
Prices are shown at checkout and may change at any time; a change does not affect a purchase you have already made. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Braintree, a PayPal service, and we never store your full card number. Volume discounts, where offered, are applied as described at checkout.
8. Refunds
We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with a grid you bought or renewed, contact us and we will refund the full purchase price to your original payment method, and the refunded grid will be closed. A refund is not available merely because your grid did not fill with Players or your pool did not go ahead: the Service works the same whether a grid has one Player or a hundred, and finding Players is the Host's job.
9. Automatic Winner Tracking and Scores
Where available, the Service can fetch live scores from third-party data providers and mark winning squares automatically. Those scores may be delayed, incomplete or incorrect, a game may stop being tracked, and score corrections may arrive after a winner has been marked. Automatic winners are a convenience, not an official result. Before announcing a winner or paying a prize, the Host must confirm the result against the official score. Hosts can set or correct winners manually at any time. We are not responsible for any prize paid on the basis of an automatic result.
10. Email
The Service sends transactional emails that are part of running your account and your grids: receipts, login links, service notices, and the grid emails described above, which are sent to Players on the Host's behalf. We may also send Hosts occasional updates and offers if they have agreed to receive them. We do our best to deliver email but cannot guarantee delivery, and we may skip addresses that appear invalid or undeliverable.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, or to run a pool you know to be unlawful where it operates;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection to anyone;
- upload or publish content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing or obscene;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, grid or system, or to interfere with the Service's operation;
- scrape, copy or harvest data from the Service, or send unsolicited messages using it; or
- resell the Service or use it to provide a competing service.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close your account, lock or remove a grid, or stop providing the Service to you if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the Service and its users. A termination for breaking these Terms does not entitle you to a refund. You may close your account at any time by contacting us; your grids will expire and their contents will be handled as described in section 7.
13. Intellectual Property and Licence
The Service, including its software, design, text and images, belongs to Super Bowl Squares or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service, and to print and share our free grid templates for your own pool or fundraiser, as long as you follow these Terms. You may not sell our templates or remove our name from them. Content you add to a grid remains yours; you give us the right to store, display and send it as needed to provide the Service.
14. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that scores, results or any other content will be accurate or complete.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Super Bowl Squares and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or prizes, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Super Bowl Squares and its affiliates, officers, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from your use of the Service, your pool, your dealings with your Players, content you publish, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.
17. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service links to websites and services we do not control, and Hosts may add their own links to a grid. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices, and you use them at your own risk.
18. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may change the Service, and we may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. If a change is material we will also let Hosts know by email or with a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the new Terms.
19. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you submit to their personal jurisdiction.
20. Contact Us
Questions about these Terms can be sent to Super Bowl Squares by email at or through our contact page.
